Apply for Financial Aid

Financial aid can help make college more affordable. We encourage all students and potential students to apply for financial aid. You should file as early as you can to maximize your potential aid opportunities. By applying for financial aid, you're automatically considered for a number of need-based Cal Poly scholarships. You will need to reapply for financial aid every year.

Applying Using the FAFSA

If you are a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen, you will need to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You, and most likely your parents, will need to create a FSA ID. Here's instructions for creating it.

Applying Using the California Dream Act

California residents who aren’t eligible to file a FAFSA but meet California AB 540 Status requirements should complete the California Dream Act Application instead.

Apply for Financial Aid for the Summer Quarter

Cal Poly students taking classes during summer quarter may be eligible to receive financial aid for the Summer Quarter.
