The Cal Poly Women's Volleyball Club competes in the Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League January through early April. The club was founded by Cal Poly women athletes with a love for volleyball wanting to compete at a high level while still achieving academic success as full time students. Operating as a private club before becoming chartered as a Cal Poly Sport Club, the organization established a very competitive and successful program.

Prospective players are encouraged to attend open gym play in late September. Tryouts are held in early October and practices begin immediately after the teams are announced. The club fields two teams–one each in Division I and Division II. In addition to league matches, the club participates in tournaments in California and beyond, including the NCVF National Championships held this season (2010) in Louisville, KY. where our Division I team went undefeated and won their first national championship. Our Division II team (which plays Division III at nationals by rule) finished 5th, losing to the eventual national champions.

The club is funded only partially by the school. The bulk of the funds come from member dues, fundraising, and donations. If you would like to help our club with a gratefully accepted donation, please see our Donation page.
