:: University of Vienna ::

We are very excited to welcome students from the University of Vienna to join our program this year. This page is put together to address some of the special issues of joining the program for students from University of Vienna.

The program information can be found on other pages on the Thai Study Abroad site. This page initially will address the course work, application process, and fees for University of Vienna students. If more issues arise, then we will update this page.

Course Work
While you will be required to officially enroll in one Cal Poly course in Thailand, past University of Vienna students have gotten course credit for other courses offered in the Thailand Study Program through special arrangements through a faculty member at the University of Vienna. We can provide information about how this might be done before the Program starts.

Application
Please fill out a contact form to get on the email distribution list for next year's program. In the text portion, please let us know that you are from University of Vienna.

All UV students must:

- Complete a Thai Study Program Application
- Complete Cal Poly Risk Managment Forms: Assumption of Risk and Release, Medical Information and Authorization, and Student Participation Agreement forms
- Have a faculty member from UV complete a reference form for you
- Register for the Open University course - directions to be announced
- Have a valid passport through December 2008
- Obtain a Thai Visa - we will send you a letter of invitation in January 2008
- Pay all associated fees by designated deadline - February 10, 2008

Fees
The cost is broken down into three main categories:

1. Tuition. The cost to enroll in the Cal Poly course is $764. All students from University of Vienna will enroll in Cal Poly's Social Science 450 - South East Asian Economic Development through Cal Poly's Continuing Education Open University Program. Through Open University, non-Cal Poly students have access to credit courses from Cal Poly's schedule without enrolling in a degree program. The cost per unit for a seminar course is $191 per unit or $764 for a four unit course.
