Dr. Hwang joined the department in 2007. Her speciality is mediated communication, with a particular interest in the sociological implications of internet communication. Dr. Hwang teaches Communication Research Methods, Media Effects, Persuasion, and Public Speaking. Prior to coming to Cal Poly, she served as a teaching associate at both Michigan State University and the University at Buffalo.
