I. This is the Homepage with information for stduents enrolled in Cal Poly's Developmental Math Courses - Math 100 (Beginning Algebra) and 104 (Intermediate Algebra).

• Students enrolled in Math 100 or 104 log on to ALEKS (Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces) to take tests, complete lessons, do homework, and complete ALEKS assessments. ALEKS has system requirements for running the ALEKS Beginning and Intermediate Algebra programs on your computer. Take a Quick Tour or watch a 15 minute Video to find out more about ALEKS. You may also access a guest logon for a 24-hour trial period.
• Important note: Students enrolled in Math 100 must also complete Math 104 to satisfy the Entry Level Math (ELM) requirement at Cal Poly. Students required to take Math 100 and 104 must enroll in these courses each quarter until they have completed the ELM requirement. Furthermore, this requirement must be completed within the first year of enrollment.
• All Math 100 and Math 104 classes meet in the Math Computer Lab located in Building 38, Room 135.

II. ALEKS Support- Find support for a variety of issues:

• Plug-ins - When downloading ALEKS for the first time on a computer, a plug-in must be installed (and happens automatically when you log on). If the download doesn't work, be certain you have the most recent version of JAVA (www.java.com - free download). If this still does not work, email ALEKS support with the details. AOL users - please note that you cannot run ALEKS using the AOL browser - try using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
• Access ALEKS temporarily on a computer without downloading the plug-in at www.aleks.com/plugin. Enter your same login name and password. ALEKS will work a bit slower from this website but otherwise normally.
• Download the ALEKS plug-ins manually.
• Password support- help if you've forgotten your password or if ALEKS is telling you the one being used is incorrect. You can also email your instructor to reset your password.

All classes meet in Building 38, Room 135. Open Lab hours are TR 9 am to 9:30 am. View the syllabus and class schedule showing due dates for homework and Intermediate Objectives, as well as exam dates. Courses are taught by Professor Adrienne Riley and Professor Sonja Schuster. • Learn to use ALEKS successfully! The ALEKS Student Tips provides information and suggestions to help you use your time and effort wisely in this course.
• Learn about the ALEKS MENU items.
• Open Lab Hours for the Developmental Computer Lab in building 38, room 131 for this quarter.
• You may also access the ALEKS program in the Computer Lab in the Kennedy Library.

V. Tutoring

• You may use the open lab hours for additional help for your Math 100 or 104 course.
• Free tutoring is provided by the Math Department several hours each day throughout the quarter.
• Tutors can be hired (at your own expense). Access the Math Private Tutors List from the Math Department homepage. Click on Tutoring Services towards bottom at left side of page to find the private tutor list.
