Research Interests:
Dr. Mori has been a professor of Sociology at Cal Poly
since 1986. She recently returned from one and a half years of
research and teaching in China. Interests include Asian cultures, ethnic
relations, women's studies, Chinese and Japanese calligraphy and Japanese
tea ceremony. Geographical interests are in Asia i.e. China, Korea, and
Japan.
Currently, Professor Mori is researching immigrant adaptation and
religious practice
among members of the Central Coast India Club. In China, Korea, and Japan
she is researching higher education for women. Past research has focused
on the Japanese Tea Ceremony as leisure for Japanese and foreigners.
Other involvement includes Chi Delta Theta a student sorority for Asian
American women, Pi Gamma Mu and Phi Beta Delta an International Honor Society.
