Founding Chapter of Sigma Omega Nu's official philanthropy is with the American Heart Association. Every September, the chapter participates in the local Heart Walk. February is Heart Month, in which the chapter participates in a Dollar Drive to raise money for local awareness of heart disease.

The members of Founding Chapter have also become involved in diverse community service events and organizations. Some of the organizations that our chapter has been most involved with are the Mesa Program, Student Academic Services and Student Community Services at Cal Poly as well as the Juvenile Service Center and Pacheco Elementary School.
