Welcome to the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo web site for the Society of Black Engineers and Scientists. SBES was established at Cal Poly in 1978 and shortly after became part of the national organization, National Society Of Black Engineers (NSBE). The chapter was created to academically and professionally support minority engineering and science students on campus. SBES is the largest University recognized African American academic and social club.
