On Friday, we saw a taping of the tonight show. We went up on stage and got a photo with Jay Leno! We'll post a picture on the members web site to prove it. We also got some autographs from Green Day and Jonny Knoxville (from Jackass on MTV). Then we went to a cool tailgate party put on by Cal Poly Alumni in the LA area. Yeah, we lost the football game, but we all had a great time. Thanks to the Polyreps who joined us on the trip to the Tonight Show and football game. Our next road trip will be BIG! We'll have a big ass bus with plenty of dirty water. When? Where? Stay Tuned... -Rock =================================================================== >>>>>> Upcoming Events =================================================================== Basketball is back! For those who haven't seen the Mustang's play basketball, lemmie tell you a little about our style. We're an offensive team, which means we can score (most of the time). So expect some high scoring, exciting games. Lots of 3-pointers. And it wouldn't be a real Mustang basketball game if we didn't have hecklers in the crowd. Mott Gym is much smaller than Mustang Stadium (hell, it's even enclosed!), so that means your voice can easily carry across the court. Homemade signs are also big. We'll talk about Basketball at the next GENERAL MEETING, this Wednesday @ 7pm, upstairs in Mott Gym (the green room). Finally, the last football game of the season is this Saturday @ 1pm. Who knows... you might find confetti at the game :) =================================================================== >>>>>> Wildflower Team Applications =================================================================== Running Thunder is the official sponsoring club of Wildflower. Wildflower is a triathalon/PARTY that goes on during the first weekend of May. Ask someone about it, and they'll tell you that you DON'T WANT TO MISS IT! 2 years ago, I had to choose between seeing NOFX in SLO or Wildflower. Damn, that was a tough decision, but I went to Wildflower and it was awesome. So the moral of that story is that if you appreciate NOFX, then you know how cool Wildflower is. Anyway, Cal Poly pretty much runs the show. Not just the students who come up to volunteer for the weekend, but Wildflower Committee and Sub-Committee, made up of all Cal Poly students, organize and run all aspects of the triathalon! We here at Running Thunder will be handling all Committee applications. Applications will come out soon. We'll have a booth in the UU and we'll be happy to answer any questions. More information including dates & times to come. Committee applicants are usually returners from Wildflower who have been on a Sub-Committee or Committee in past years. If you have never been to Wildflower, we suggest that you go as a volunteer or guest and discover what Wildflower is all about. If you've been to Wildflower and you'd like to take on some leadership responsibilities, then Sub-Committe or Committee may be for you. Committee members will be choosing their own Sub-Committee later in the year. Committee & Sub-Committee keep coming back, year after year, so there must be some reason to join! Magic Mountain. In my opinion, the best Amusment Park in California, possibly the western US! Well we're gonna go at the beginning of the next quarter. We're not going for any sports games. We're just going cause Magic Mountain is cool! It's going to be a day trip. It's less than 3 hours to get there, so we'll leave in the morning, stay all day, and come back at night. Running Thunder is going to hook you up with 1/2 price tickets! Interested?
