About The Cal Poly Polo Club - Home

WHO ARE WE?
The Polo Club is a social club for students who share a love of horses (and polo!). Wether you just want to ride, or have experience and want to take your riding to new levels and learn the sport of Polo, this is THE club to be in. We even have members who have never been on a horse. The club is a close-knit group of people and many develop friendships within the club that last for years.
OUR POLO TEAM(S):
There is a Polo team within the club that is composed of the top players. This team will represent Cal Poly and play in games/tournaments against other schools. Collegiate Polo is played in an arena (rather than a field). There is a separate men and women's team. The season is during winter quarter and we play the following schools in our western region:
· UC Davis
· Oregon State
· UC Santa Barbara
· Westmont
· Stanford
· Washington State
· Santa Barbara City College
· USC
The entire club travels to the games with the team for support. This is a fun way to meet other college students and get to watch some great Polo! These teams will compete in a Regional Championship Tournament at the end of the season (late February) and the winner will go onto the collegiate National Tournament to represent the entire West Coast. This is usually held at Brushy Creek Polo Ranch in Texas the first week of spring quarter. Cal Poly has had this honor several times.
