Research interests: Liquid Crystals and Biophysics. I am interested in the field of soft condensed matter physics - i.e. science of the squishy. Traditional condensed matter physics describes things like semiconductors, metals, crystals and other hard materials. Soft condensed matter involves the fluid state and has many overlapping interests with biology, chemistry, materials science and the newly coined field of "nanoscience".
