PHYSICS 211-MODERN PHYSICS

Course Description:
PHYS 211  Modern Physics I (4) Special relativity, fundamental principles of quantum mechanics, emphasizing the modern description of atomic phenomena. Kinetic theory, wave particle duality, Bohr theory, Schroedinger equation, elementary atomic structure. 4 lectures. Prerequisite: PHYS 123, or PHYS 132 and PHYS 133, and MATH 241.
