Someone comes up with a new T-shirt design about once a year, and then
they are printed and sold in the Math Department office and at the
quarterly book sale. The last two years we produced a "Math is Sexy"
shirt, which reads "Math is Sexy" on the front, and "We can prove it"
on the back. Last years shirt read "Free Abelian Groups" (Math 481 joke).
Previous shirts include the Fight Club parody shirt, "Math
Club" with the "rules" of math club on the back (see below). We also
have the "Math Friends" shirt, that lists the four types of math
friends: imaginary, complex, rational, and irrational. You can get any
of these three for $15 or you can have another year's edition- a dark
green shirt with "M*A*T*H" and a big red plus sign, for $12 at the
office.
