Class participation consists of written work done in class as well as homework assignments that must be typed. You will be divided into groups of four to do this work. Four is the maximum number in a group. Any class work with more than four names on the paper will not be given credit. Any illegible or incomplete writing will not be given credit. Generally class work consists of watching a video, and the group answering a question about what was viewed in sociological terms. If extra credit is given, it will be in class to all who are there. There is no making up of class participation.

Quizzes will require short answers and will be given periodically to check on comprehension. Quizzes cannot be made up, but one (1) extra quiz will be given.

The midterm and the final will cover both reading material and what is covered in class. If you miss the midterm your final grade will be substituted for the midterm grade.
