Lesson
Plan Chart
The lesson plan chart has been designed to
give instructors some idea of the complexity of the tunes on
this web site. It is organized based upon a semester of 15
weeks (16th week excluded for final exams) from Week 1 (simple
melodic dictation) to Week 15 (more difficult melodic dictation)
with at least 5 tunes for each week (one for each weekday).
The chart is by no means foolproof but will assist instructors
in assigning melodies based upon their own lesson plan for
teaching aural dictation in the classroom.
The lesson plan chart names the week, the composition,
the section (e.g., Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Broadway,
etc.), the key signature, the meter signature, the types of
rhythms that occur in the piece, and whether or not it contains
chromaticism, syncopation, and/or ties.

chart requires that you have Adobe
