Introduction
Traveling is happening at all times and in all places. When will be the next time you embark on an adventure for work or play? Are you prepared? Besides great tips and suggestions on traveling, the good traveler needs the best in luggage. There are two basic reasons for travel: work and play. Most of us would opt for the latter, but either way, you will need dependable luggage.
Business and pleasure
Business travelers need luggage such as computer backpacks, briefcases, and leather luggage (to make a good business impression). Those commencing on leisure affairs could benefit from sling bags, daypacks, and wheeled luggage (you’re on vacation, you have to save your energy).
Criteria
Whether buying luggage for work or play, there are certain factors to be addressed. The following list draws attention to particular aspects of luggage that will serve you well. The ideal situation is to purchase long-lasting quality luggage.
- Look for wheeled luggage. You will save energy in walking around with your luggage and money and time not waiting for porters and bellmen. Purchase luggage with a long handle. You should be able to lock down your handle so it won’t be damaged when checking it. For a larger bag, buy one with two grip handles to make it easier to lift and carry.
- Buy luggage with an outer shell that suits your needs. Soft-sides are lightweight and expandable. They are great carry-ons, but the contents are susceptible to damage. Hard-side luggage protects your contents, but they are heavier. They will not oblige to tight spots. Semi-soft luggage is a union of the prior two. They offer structure, weigh less than hard luggage, and offer protection to your contents.
- Nylon and ballistic nylon is good for soft and semi-soft luggage. “High denier” refers to thick fiber.
- Metal zippers are to be avoided. Synthetic zippers are able to self-repair. This is a factor that should not be overlooked.
- Many bags offer a hook to carry other bags. This can be an added convenience.
- Some luggage have outside pockets. This can be good for wet clothes or storing items you will need immediately such as your passport and wallet.
- Get a bag with a warranty. A good warranty is very important.
