Good weight control habits
and you can start them today !
Unhealthy food?
Remove unhealthy food from your refrigerator and pantry.
Don’t tempt yourself. If you get a brownie craving at 2 am, no matter how bad it gets or how weak you are the fact that you won’t find anything resembling a pastry in your home means you still stay on your diet. You can very easy improve your unhealthy eating patterns by that trick.
Separate your food
If there are other people in your household who don’t share your diet, keep your food separate.
Train yourself to look only in your corner of the refrigerator, where the fruits and vegetables are, far away from their pint of Haagen Daz.
Food Diary
Keep a food diary.
How much you eat, when those cravings emerge, when you’re most likely to binge, eating patterns—it all goes here. It gives you a better picture of your diet personality and what works for you. It’s also a great place to record the feelings and struggles you’ll encounter in your journey to a healthier you. Vent it out, girl: you’ll shed the stress that can accumulate when you’re trying to shed the pounds.
Dieting Reward System
Keep a reward system.
It’s a lot like the Star Chart you had when you were in school. For every hour at the gym, every meal that sticks to your diet specifications, you get one point. Big breakthroughs like increasing the difficulty of your workout gets five points. Then, the points translate to certain rewards. Reach 50, and you get you a small treat. This can be a very small slice of low-fat cheesecake, or new lipstick. Whatever you want, honey, you deserve it.
Motivate yourself for the diet
Paste motivational posters and photos on your refrigerator door.
It’s your last line of defense. You want to binge, you’re ready to eat another serving of lasagna, but there is that strong visual reminder—a picture of yourself when you were 10 pounds lighter, the bathing suit you want to wear this summer once you’ve firmed up your flab—to put you back in focus.
Diet Buddy
Find a diet buddy.
Not all your friends will understand your diet or have the patience to sit through a blow by blow account of your battle with carbs, but a diet buddy will. She understands exactly what you’re going through and will hear you out (or give you a firm talking to when you’re ready to give up)
And remember - your own overweight are the pounds too much that your childs find natural ... Even if you don't have kids today, be aware that (future) parents overweight is often seen as a major reason for childhood obesity. And you want to start losing weight today if you know that, don't you?
