- Map of the Point Buchon Trail on PG&E land just beyond the south end of Montana de Oro State Park. This website also has the rules for hiking on this trail. The website indicates that you should make a reservation, but you definitely do not need to make a reservation. The trail is open every day except Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 am until 3:45 pm. After parking at the turnaround loop at the south end of Montana de Oro State Park you walk past the gate and follow the paved road down the hill, across the bridge, and up the hill to the security shed where you will need to fill out and sign a waver form. They will give you a map and answer any questions you may have. Say hello to Diane for me.
