English 310: Corporate Communication
(What do previous students say about this class?)

Outcomes | Grading | Orientation | Add Policy | Procedures

What to Expect

The work you’ll do for English 310 can be categorized within one or more of three areas:

  • letters and memos (generally prepared individually)
  • job search
  • the changing workplace: attitudes, paradigms, and logic

Each area overlaps the others to some extent.

You’ll note from the Study Guide/Contract that you will turn in written work at almost every class meeting. Most of this work will require minimal writing but intensive -- and maybe even extensive -- thought. Because we will explore new paradigms, you’ll probably be challenged by some of the unfamiliar thought processes you’ll pursue in order to solve the problems you’re asked to solve.

You’ll be well-served to get to assignments early and read the text thoroughly.
