Interested in coming to Cal Poly?
If you are interested in obtaining a degree from Cal Poly, please contact the Cal Poly Admissions Office for application materials and requirements for international students. The Admissions Office processes applications for all Cal Poly degree-seeking students and issues I-20's for students to apply for F-1 student visas. See more information on our Prospective Students pages.

If you are interested in our exchange programs, please see our International Exchange web page to determine if you are eligible and contact the exchange coordinator at your home campus for application information. Once accepted, ISS will prepare your DS-2019 to apply for a J-1 exchange visitor visa.

Once you have been admitted to Cal Poly, International Students & Scholars will contact you and send you pre-departure and orientation information.

Visiting Faculty and Scholars
Please visit our International Scholars web pages for information pertaining to ISS services for visiting faculty and scholars at Cal Poly. ISS prepares the DS-2019 forms used to obtain J-1 exchange visitor visas for scholars, but we must coordinate with the Dean's office who makes the official invitation and offer to come and work at Cal Poly.
