Congratulations on your acceptance and welcome to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo! We are pleased you decided to attend our University. You should be receiving a welcome packet soon.

If you have been admitted to a degree program, the Admissions Office will prepare your I-20 for you to use when you apply for an F-1 visa.

If you have been accepted into an exchange program at Cal Poly, you will be asked to fill out the DS-2019 Request Form. This provides us with the information necessary to prepare the DS-2019 document, which an exchange visitor needs in order to apply for a J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa to come to Cal Poly.

Quarterly Orientation Sessions for New International Students
The International Student Orientation sessions are REQUIRED of new incoming international students. International Student Orientation provides you with critical information concerning maintaining visa status, personal safety, academic and social success, cultural adjustment, health care, recreation, transportation, banking and employment.
