HP Session Server is Available for General User Access The HP Session Server is now available for General User Access. To log into the HP Session server, connect to the hostname "polylog1" instead of your old home site name. Your login ID and password will be the same as they were on the old AIX system. Beginning September 7, attempts to connect to any of the old AIX session server machines (cymbal, flute, harp, trumpet, tuba, or violin) will automatically connect you to "polylog1". To find out what's been installed on the Session server so far, review the web pages located at "http://www.calpoly.edu/~ias/hp-unix-system/". In particular, look at the pages entitled "Applications on AIX and Their Porting Status to HP-UX" and "Applications on Other Systems and Their Porting Status to HP-UX" from the HP Systems' main page. Your current AIX site will be removed as of September 7, 1997 but AIX will continue to be available through the end of Fall Quarter 1997: A single AIX site named "rodin" will be available from September 7 through Christmas Break. Any Central UNIX account can log in to "rodin" if AIX services are required. WARNING: Between now and September 6, polylog1 may go down at any time without warning as we prepare for the weekend outage (September 6-7). Use the session server at your own risk before September 6. If you encounter any problems with INSTALLED software (see Web pages cited above), please report them via email to "bugs@polymail.calpoly.edu". If you have any questions about additional software that are not answered by the Web pages, send email to "suggestions@polymail.calpoly.edu".
