Modem Authentication and Group Restrictions

Starting today, September 5, 1995, all AIX accounts in multi-user groups
(ulib, project, grader, etc.) and various AIX accounts in system
dependent groups may not be used for modem access.  Other accounts in
groups which are non-campus users will also be restricted as to what
hours they may access the modems.

If you are authorized to use a multi-user group account, use your own
AIX account to gain access to the modems, then login to AIX with the
multi-user group account.

All Cal Poly faculty, staff and students have full access to the modems
through their AIX accounts.

Users are restricted to access the modems during the following times:

        Reimbursable, Grader, Ulib,
        Comm. Col. Student, Project,
        and other groups not listed     No access

To check which group your account is in, issue the command

        id<CR>

It will return your your UID number, login ID, your account Group ID
number, and your account group name.
