Games Being Shut Off During End of Quarter Rush. *** REVISED ***

Due to the loads being placed on the modems and the need to accomplish 
academic assignments and support, the Communications Advisory 
Committee (CAC) has requested that games be turned off on AIX during 
the last few weeks of the quarter from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM, Sunday 
through Thursday nights.

During this time, attempts to use the play command will meet with a 
rejection.  Users using play will be given a two minute warning, then 
the game they are playing will be killed (normal play procedure).

It is hoped, by the CAC, that this action will result in greater 
accessibility for those who must access the systems during those hours 
to perform academic work on the system.  User's having questions 
regarding this decision should address them to the CAC committee 
(sroliver@oboe.calpoly.edu).

NOTE:  Users who are found to have built their own versions of these 
games or any others will be frozen as per system policies.
