Sending Chain Letters Information Systems strictly enforces its policy regarding unsolicited mail. It is against system policies to send unsolicited mail to one or more users. Chain letters constitute such unsolicited mail and waste a valuable resource. Any letter which asks you to pass it on to an indescriminant number of users is a chain letter. Any user who receives a chain letter is encouraged to forward it to Information Technology Services (email address: complaints@oboe.calpoly.edu). Users who have been found to have sent chain letters will find their accounts frozen. This is a waste of resources and violates several of the principles of network etiquette as well as system policies.
