CPNN Will Be Removed During Winter Quarter Break, December 1993. CPNN will be replaced by Cal Poly’s gopher, which provides easier access to more sources of information. CPNN will be removed as of December 22, 1993. Users attempting to access CPNN from their AIX or VM account will be informed to use the "gopher" command instead. Users attempting to access CPNN by typing “CPNN” at the "CALPOLY>" prompt (i.e., without an account) will be connected to a gopher client that is text based and will provide any information that is in text form to the user. Those who use this method of accessing such things as the open class list will not be able to search the file they are viewing; they will only be able to scroll down through the file. To search the Open Class List on gopher, use the menu choice "Search Open Class List by Keyword" item in the Open Class List Menu. This client will also be available via the name "gopher" at the "CALPOLY>" prompt. System Administrators on other campus systems who currently have a "CPNN" command should also replace that command with a "gopher" client.
