A rule has been added to AIX sendmail that now allows users to
mail messages to BITNET without having to specify a remote
gateway (e.g. interbit).  This rule now points to a local
gateway within one of the IBM VM systems at Cal Poly.

Messages should be addressed as follows:

user@host.bitnet

Users should check their .mailrc files and change any aliases
to reflect this new routing.

Managers of other campus machines, which use Internet mail, should
contact Academic Computing Services for a copy of the rule.
