AIX Preventative Maintenance Schedule

The AIX Systems are on Preventative Maintenance every Sunday from 8:00
AM to 12:00 Noon.  This time period is reserved for required system
maintenance which requires downtime of the system.  Extensions to this
time period will be posted in the system message of the day which is
displayed on logging in to the system.  Expect extensions during our
transition from AIX to HP-UX.

During the Preventative Maintenance period, one or more systems may
remain up and functional as well as some of the services (mail, web,
gopher, and modem access which is independent of the status of the
central UNIX system), however users must not depend on availability
during this time period.
