Central UNIX Unavailable Sunday, April 6 NOTE: This downtime was postponed from March 16 due to other events occurring within Central UNIX. All services on Central UNIX (AIX/HP) will be interrupted on Sunday, April 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to accommodate switching mail services back to the production machine from the temporary machine. Incoming mail will be delayed during the upgrade. There should be no lost mail during this interruption, which will last from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. NOTE: This is an extension of the normally scheduled Sunday down time of 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. All users who use Central UNIX mail service will be affected. Users will not be able to log into the system during this time period. Users of POPmail (Netscape and Eudora) can neither send nor receive mail. For more detailed information, see http://www.calpoly.edu/~ias/hp-unix-system/. On Sunday April 6, a substitute computer will be removed from service and the normal mail server will be put back into service. Office Vision users sending mail to the UNIX system during this time may receive a warning message that the mail to the UNIX system is delayed, but the mail will eventually be delivered.
