| DCE (Distributed Computing Environment) | To be installed later during the project (about one year out or more). Provides a more transparant computing environment and improved account security. | |

| MeasureWare RS/6000 | Client software to allow monitoring the old AIX machines from the new systems management system. | |
| MirrorDsk/UX | Software that provides disk mirroring. The root volume groups of all six HP machines will be mirrored. | |
| Netscape Commerece Server | Will be investigated as a potential replacement for NCSA HTTPd after migration. | |
| OnLineJFS | Provides many disk management services imiliar to those currently in use on the AIX cluster including on-line resizing of the filesystems. | |
| OpenMail | Client/Server based email system which will be phased in over the coming year. | |
| OpenSpool | Print management facility. | |
| OpenTime | Client/Server based calendaring system which will be phased in over the coming year. | |
| OpenView | X11 Windowing environment. | |
| OpenView IT/Administration | Remote system administration capabilities from a centralized location. | |
| OpenView IT/Operations | Remote system monitoring capabilities from a remote location. | |
| OpenView Omniback II | Filesystem backup facilities. | |
| PerfView Analyzer | Systems performance analyzing software. | |
| PerfView Monitor | Systems performance monitoring software. | |
| PRM (Process Resource Manage) | Process management software. | |
| Service Guard | System failure management software. Provides for resumuption of services after hardware and software failures. | |
