Application to the fellowship program should be initiated by a brief project description accompanied by a list of manuscripts or other archival materials the applicant wishes to consult in the course of his or her research in order that the presence of these materials in the collections and their suitability for the proposed research may be determined. Confirmation of the presence or absence of these materials and their appropriateness for the proposed topic will be sent shortly thereafter.  A formal application should then be submitted.

SYNOPSIS:


The sponsor provides fellowships to assist scholars wishing to conduct research in the manuscript collections in the Vatican Film Library.  Travel expenses and a living allowance are provided for a period of two to eight weeks.  Applicants may be post-doctoral scholars or graduate students formally admitted to Ph.D. granting program working on their dissertations.
