Course Description

Course Objectives

  • Each student will become familiar with tools, practices, and skills used in the Landscape Design and Management fields.
  • The student will gain a working Knowledge of the principles of lettering, drawing and interpretation of landscape plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
  • History of Landscape Horticulture and floral design.

  • Detailing and dimensioning techniques.
  • Landscape and Floral industries-their practices, standards, and requirements.
  • The Professionals involved in each of these professions.
  • Each student will gain an appreciation and overview of the Landscape Horticulture and Floral Professions.

    Student Responsibilities

  • Lab sessions meet for two 3-hour sessions each week. Lab functions in direct relationship with lecture. Students will demonstrate their understanding.
  • Students are responsible for regular attendance and being on time for each class session.
  • It is expected that additional time outside of class will be utilized to complete assigned projects and exercises for both lecture and lab.
