Your grade in this course will be determined as follows:

Participation and Preparation- 20%

Essays - 30%
Multiple-Choice Exams
Weekly exams (10-15 questions-20 minute time limit) will be administered each Friday beginning October 4, 1996. The exams will cover the reading and lecture material of the previous two class sessions. A Form 882-ES Scan Tron Card is required.
Participation and Preparation
Participation in class discussion and chat room discussion is strongly encouraged. Student preparation (e.g., reading assigned materials) for each class session is required. Each unprepared session will be deducted 5% of your grade (not to exceed 20% total) Unexcused absences will be treated as unprepared sessions.
Homework
Homework is assigned weekly and is due on each Friday beginning October 4, 1996. The homework assignments consist of brief written answers to questions on the assigned readings.
Essays
Four essay assignments will be given ( due dates to be announced).
