Information systems contain many subsystems in an organisation. The field
of study encompasses various disciplines in social science, computer science,
information and communications technologies, management, multimedia, etc. It
is multidisciplinary in nature. The mission of an information-systems
professional is to turn the systems into organisational values. This requires
innovative, communication, technical, people, management, and valuation skills.
One must keep abreast of the advances of knowledge, methods, phenomena, and
technologies in the field, and apply them to managing an organisation.
The IJISAM is a double-blind refereed and authoritative reference dealing
with working and potential information systems theories and applications
as well as emerging issues of interest to professionals and academics.
The objectives of the IJISAM are to promote and coordinate the
developments and practices of information systems theories and methods.
It also aims to help professionals, business educators, and policy-makers
to contribute know-how, to disseminate information, and to learn from each
other. The international dimension is emphasised in order to overcome cultural
and national barriers and to meet the needs of accelerating technological and
organisational changes in the global community. Emphases will also be on the related
social, political and economic issues as well as emerging issues of interest
to professionals and academics. The journal publishes original and
review papers, technical reports, and case studies. Contribution may be by
submission or invitation, and suggestions
for special issues and publications are welcome. Questions
about submissions
