Introduction
The Forth International
Conference on E-business (ICEB2004), hosted by Tsinghua University,
will be held in Beijing, China, the capital city of China with ancient
culture and long history.
E-business creates value by extending
market reach, improving the efficiency of business processes, and
building more productive relationships with customers and trading
partner. E-business plays an increasingly critical role in today’s
intensely competitive, rapidly evolving global marketplace. Even after
the shakeout of dot-com company, the e-business innovation has not
stopped. We can see this from the emergence of Web services, the mobile
Internet, agent technologies, wireless computing, P2P technologies,
pervasive computing. These technologies and associated practices
continuously challenge the traditional business models. The aim of the
International Conference on E-business (ICEB) is to provide a global
forum where both researchers and practitioners come together, present
their latest findings and share their innovative ideas, industry
foresights and practical experiences in the area of e-business. The
conference will enhance participants’ awareness in the lessons learned
and focus their effort on the critical success factors for building
service-oriented, cost-effective and profitable e-business.
Authors are invited to submit their
original, previously unpublished papers focused on the themes of
e-business, including research, theory, development, and applications.

Call for Contributed Papers
Papers on issues related to
service systems and service management are welcome. The papers should
be written in English. The first page of each paper must include the
following information: title of the paper; name(s) and affiliation(s)
of the authors; abstract of the paper; postal address, phone and fax
numbers, and email address of the corresponding author. Papers will be
peer-reviewed for technical merit and content. To be eligible for
publication in the Conference proceedings, an accepted paper must be
presented at the Conference by one of the authors.
Call for Invited Sessions and Tracks
The goal of invited sessions (5
papers) and invited tracks (at least two sessions) is to provide
focused discussions on new topics or innovative applications. Each
prospective session/track organizer must submit a proposal, including
the title of the session, and a list of authors with extended abstracts.
