TOUR INFORMATION

From Highway 101 take Santa Rosa Street, which is Highway 1, towards Morro Bay. Go past Foothill Blvd. to the next traffic light, Highland Drive, and turn right into campus. A parking pull-out is a short distance from the entrance, on the right. Continue to the first stop sign and turn left onto Mount Bishop Road. Go past the Crops Unit, orchards, warehouse and Veterinary Unit until you reach a tile sign on the right that reads "Eugene and Rachel Boone Dairy Science Complex." Turn right and park in any undesignated space.

Dairy Facts

 

Parking
Parking permits are not required on weekends and holidays. School buses do not need parking permits. Permits are needed for everyone else for weekday parking from 7am to 10pm Monday-Thursday, and 7am to 5pm on Friday. A permit can be purchased for $2.00 at the California Blvd, Grand Avenue, and Highland Drive entrances to campus. Machine dispensers accept bills.

Milking
Cows are milked during the hours of 4-6am and 4-6pm. Milking can be viewed from the second floor of the Dairy Cattle Instructional Unit.

Tours
Group tours are given Friday mornings during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters by Dairy Club members. Tours usually take about an hour and start at 9, 10, and 11am. Arrangements should be made in advance with the Dairy Science Department by calling (805)-756-2560. There is no charge for the tours.
