Math 143 Fall 2008 Course Schedule

Note: To conserve space on the server, the links to worksheets and other course materials on this page are no longer active. Please email me if you would like copies of any of the materials.

You should check this page frequently for updated information. I will often post lecture notes, worksheets, suggested practice problems, and other relevant material on this page.

Although you are not required to turn in the homework/practice problems, I strongly recommend that you work on these problems immediately after each lecture. Working on the practice problems serves as your opportunity to make sure that you have mastered the material. I recommend that you work on the problems in groups, and that you come by my office if you have any questions about any of the problems. The answers to odd-numbered problems are in the back of your textbook. I will post answers and solutions for any assigned even-numbered practice problems. You should feel free to ask me about any problems in your textbook, assigned or unassigned.

Each week (typically on Tuesday's), except during exam weeks, I will give a quiz consisting of a few problems taken verbatim from the previous week's homework/practice problems. For example, a quiz given on Tuesday, September 30 would cover the homework/practice problems from the week of September 22-26. The quiz dates will be posted on this page in advance.

This schedule may be adjusted as necessary!
