Exam 1 Exam 2 Exam 3 Final Exam

Exam 1

Here is Exam 1. The mean score on Exam 1 was 77.5.

The first in-class exam is on Tuesday, October 14. Exam 1 will cover Sections 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 12.1, and 12.2 of your textbook. Exam 1 will be focused more heavily on Sections 12.1 and 12.2 than on Chapter 11. Approximately 75% of Exam 1 will consist of material from Sections 12.1 and 12.2, and approximately 25% will consist of material from Chapter 11. In addition to reviewing your old homeworks, notes, and worksheets, you should work on the following problems as preparation for Exam 1:
Here is a practice exam that you can use to prepare for Exam 1. The problems on Exam 1 will be similar in difficulty and nature to the problems on this practice exam, but the actual exam will be shorter than the practice exam. You should work on the practice exam before class on Monday, October 13. We'll go over the practice exam in class then. Note: The equation for the graph given in problem 5 should be r=sin(4*theta). You do not need to do parts (b) and (c) of Problem 11.


Exam 2

Here is Exam 2. The mean score on Exam 1 was 82.67.

The second in-class exam is on Tuesday, November 4. Exam 2 will cover Sections 12.2, 12.3, 12.4, 12.5, 12.6, 12.7, 12.8, and 12.9 of your textbook. Note that Section 12.10 will not be on this exam. Remember that you will be allowed to use your "Review of Series Tests" chart during the exam. You may write anything that you like on the front and/or back of the page. In addition to reviewing your old homeworks, quizzes, notes, and worksheets, you should work on the following problems as preparation for Exam 2:
Here is a practice exam that you can use to prepare for Exam 2. Note: On number 7, you only need to find the RADIUS of convergence, not the interval of convergence. The problems on Exam 2 will be similar in difficulty and nature to the problems on this practice exam, but the actual exam will be shorter than the practice exam.


Exam 3

Here is Exam 3. The mean score on Exam 3 (before the extra credit points were taken into account) was 82.5. Great job!

The third in-class exam is on Friday, November 21. Exam 3 will cover Sections 12.10, 12.12, 13.1, 13.2, 13.2, 13.4, and 13.5 of your textbook. You will be allowed to use your "Some Important Maclaurin Series" sheet during the exam, but you may NOT write anything on the sheet. Approximately 50% of Exam 3 will be on Chapter 12, and approximately 50% will be on Chapter 13. In addition to reviewing your old homeworks, quizzes, notes, and worksheets, you should work on the following problems as preparation for Exam 2:

Final Exam

The Final Exam will be comprehensive, and will be on Friday, December 12, from 10:10 am until 1:10 pm in the regular classroom (10-126). You must take the final exam at the scheduled time! The final exam will cover Sections 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4, 12.5, 12.6, 12.7, 12.8, 12.9, 12.10, 12.12, 13.1, 13.2, 13.2, 13.4, 13.5, 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, and 14.4 of your textbook. I strongly recommend that you review the previous exams and practice exams as you prepare for the final exam. Some suggested review problems from your textbook are the following:

I will give you a formula sheet to use during the exam. No other books, notes, references, or calculuators will be allowed during the exam.
