Exam 1

Here is Exam 1. The mean score on Exam 1 was 77.6.
The first in-class exam is on Tuesday, October 7. Exam 1 will cover Sections 5.5, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, and 7.1 of your textbook. In addition to reviewing your old homeworks, notes, quizzes, and worksheets, you should work on the following problems as preparation for Exam 1:
Here is a practice exam that you can use to prepare for Exam 1. The problems on Exam 1 will be similar in difficulty and nature to the problems on this practice exam, but the actual exam will be shorter than the practice exam. You should work on the practice exam before class on Monday, October 6. We'll go over the practice exam in class then.

Exam 2

Here is Exam 2. The mean score on Exam 2 was 71.1.
The second in-class exam is on Tuesday, October 28. Exam 2 will cover Sections 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, 7.6, 7.7, 8.1, and 8.2 of your textbook. In addition to reviewing your old homeworks, notes, quizzes, and worksheets, you should work on the following problems as preparation for Exam 2:
You do not need to memorize the derivatives or integrals of the inverse trig functions. You should, however, be able to use the definitions of the inverse trig functions to find their derivatives. You do not need to memorize the definitions, derivatives, or integrals of the hyperbolic functions, but you should be able to work with the hyperbolic functions if they are provided to you.

Here is a practice exam that you can use to prepare for Exam 1. The problems on Exam 2 will be similar in difficulty and nature to the problems on this practice exam, but the actual exam will be shorter than the practice exam. You should work on the practice exam before class on Monday, October 27. We'll go over the practice exam in class then.

Exam 3

Here is Exam 3.

The mean score on Exam 3 was 55.1/70, or approximately 78.7%.

In general, I am pleased with the results on Exam 3. However, I strongly encourage you to review the solutions, especially for problems 5, 6, and 7. Remember that the take-home portion of Exam 3 will be worth 30 points of your Exam 3 score. The take-home assignment is due on Tuesday, November 25.

The third in-class exam is on Tuesday, November 18. Exam 1 will cover Sections 8.3, 8.4, 8.5, and 8.8 of your textbook. You will be able to use one 8.5x11 standard sheet of paper during the exam; you may write on ONLY ONE SIDE of your sheet. Don't forget that the take-home portion of Exam 3 (worth 30 points of your Exam 3 score) is due on Tuesday, November 25. Final Exam

The Final Exam will be comprehensive. The date and time of your final exam depends on which section you're in:

Section 10 (2:10-3:00): Wednesday, December 10, 1:10-4:00 pm

Section 12 (3:10-4:00): Friday, December 12, 1:10-4:00 pm

The final exam will be held in the regular classroom for each section. You must take the final exam at the scheduled time! The final exam will cover Sections 5.5, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, 7.6, 7.7, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5, 8.8, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 10.1, and 10.4 of your textbook. I strongly recommend that you review the previous exams and practice exams as you prepare for the final exam.

I will give you a formula sheet to use during the exam. No other books, notes, references, or calculuators will be allowed during the exam.
