The Piste measures a total 14 meters long, 1.5 to 2 meters in width. Each fencer begins 2 meters from the centerline at the On Gaurd lines, placing them 4 meters apart. Clubs usually contain 3 to 4 pistes, but I fenced at clubs with as little as 2 shortened strips, and as many as eight. When not competing, fencing in a friendly training session or match, one can fence in a smaller space. Under Construction
