I am a Professor of Mathematics at Callfornia Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. That's me on the left. See if you can find me in the departmental picture.
I earned a Bachelor of
Science Degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York,
a Master's Degee at the University of Wisconsin
at Milwaukee, and a
Ph. D. at the University of California at Santa
Barbara, all in Mathematics.
I have been at Cal Poly for over a quarter century after a few years
at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and the U.S.
Naval Academy in Annapolis,
Maryand.
I regularly teach courses in vector calculus, differential
equations, linear algebra, real and complex analysis, abstract algebra,
partial differential equations, and mathematical software (Maple).
I use Maple in some of my classes (odes, pdes, linear algebra)
and have written a few Maple manuals. I am working on the
Great Maple Book, but it is a moving target. |
