Future Cal Poly at Sea Students,

I would highly recommend going on the Cal Poly at Sea program because it is an amazing experience that you will never have a chance to do again. You will meet so many amazing people, see so many amazing places and experience so many things. Both the Cal Poly and CMA people that I have met have been so nice, friendly and fun. The cruise is a great way to meet a bunch of people and get really close to people on cruise. Being on a 500 foot ship makes it so that you have to get to know everyone and as long as everyone is considerate there aren't problems.

Going to all the amazing places and getting a taste of the different cultures is such a worthwhile experience. My advice is to go out on a limb and do this even if you are worried about staying on a class schedule, being away from normal life, or anything else. The cruise is totally worth the minor inconveniences. I would not take too many units or difficult classes because there are a lot of things to do and distractions on the ship. Also, when you are in port you are very busy and end up exhausted afterward. Keep in mind that this is not a cruise ship; you will have to do some cleaning and things are not catered for you. Living on a real ship is still such a neat experience. Most important, when you go make sure to make the most of the trip - have fun and keep an open mind about people and new places.
