:: Letter 13, Cruise 2001 ::

Dear Student,

So you're looking into the quarter at sea program? Before you decide, let me tell you a few of the good things, and the bad things. Starting with the good things, this trip was tons of fun. I had a blast every single port day and went to some places I may never have seen on my own. The coming Australia trip should be pretty sweet, if you like that whole area. If you're looking to get in shape, this is a good place to do it. You'll have tons of time on your hands, and while the gym is small, it gets the job done. Depending on which classes you take, you can get some pretty good grades. Rooms are a little small, but I liked my roommates so they didn't seem cramped art all. The food is ok, but the desserts are awesome (not good if you're trying to get in shape). Most of the CMA cadets are cool, but there are always some that don't like the Poly program - oh well. All in all I had an awesome time on cruise, and I would pretty much recommend it to almost everyone.

A few of the bad things were just small stupid stuff. We have to make our beds, and clean our rooms for daily inspections. In that sense it was a little militaristic which got old sometimes, but that's supposed to calm down next year. Some of the CMA teachers and cadets didn't like us, and they made it known to a few of us, but there's a few asses in every group. Other than that it was a pretty good trip and like I said, I'd recommend it to anyone.
