Apply for CSU Student Research Competition

Up to 10 Cal Poly students will be selected to compete in the statewide CSU Student Research Competition at Cal Poly Pomona, May 10-11. Dean Bailey will choose representatives from the College of Science and Mathematics to present before the Academic Senate. The senate will decide who continues on to the statewide competition. Students interested in competing should submit the registration form and a research summary to their department chair by Friday, February 8.

Most new freshmen have no idea what the study expectations are in college. The 2005 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) reports that 55 percent of high school students study three or less hours per week and only 8 percent study 10 hours per week. At Cal Poly, the most successful students are on the 25/35 study plan.

Annual Student Recognition Awards

Is yours the top club? Seniors: do you want to be recognized for your community service, or your contributions to the College of Science and Mathematics – or the entire university? Or do you know someone who should be? Every spring, the college seeks applications and nominations for three annual student recognition awards. Click on the links below to find application forms and details. Applications for 2013 awards will be accepted next March/April.
