Cal Poly Report Submissions
Cal Poly Report is the weekly employee e-newsletter for all 2,500 campus employees. It is e-mailed to all employees every Wednesday during the academic year, and the second Wednesday of the month during the summer.
No off-campus organizations may submit information for Cal Poly Report. Cal Poly does not post news or information on any of its web sites from third parties wishing to reach the campus audience. No Cal Poly e-publications -- including Cal Poly Report -- accept advertising.
Business and individuals who want details about advertising at Cal Poly can contact the Mustang Daily, the student-run campus newspaper, at 805-756-1143.
Cal Poly employees are welcome to submit items of interest to Public Affairs for inclusion in Cal Poly Report. DEADLINE for all submissions is 4 p.m. the Friday prior to desired publication.
All items submitted for Cal Poly Report should generally be less than 150 words, and include the complete "5ws" on the topic: who, what, where, when, why, PLUS an e-mail or phone number or web site for employees seeking more details.
Cal Poly Report does not publish lists, pdfs, or multiple-page documents. Departments wishing to publicize such lengthy information should post it on their own department, office or division Web site, then submit a BRIEF summary item about the information for Cal Poly Report - and include the web link.
To submit items for Cal Poly report, e-mail polynews@calpoly.edu by 4 p.m. the Friday before desired publication. Include the words "For Cal Poly Report" in the subject line.
Do NOT e-mail Cal Poly Report items to individual Public Affairs staff members. Your item could be missed by staff who are on vacation or sick leave. All Public Affairs staff see e-mail sent to polynews@calpoly.edu and will take care of your item if the Cal Poly Report editor is on vacation or ill.
