Come Out to the Cal Poly Club Baseball Team's 1st Annual Little League Day!
San Luis Obispo, Calif. - The Cal Poly Club Baseball Team is putting on their first philanthropic event. It will be held at Santa Rosa Park on Sunday May 22nd from 12-4 in the afternoon. Children ranging from six to thirteen years old will be able to enjoy a BBQ with their family while learning proper baseball etiquette.
This is a chance for the team to not only share their knowledge and experience, but to reach out to the community. The baseballs and the bats will be provided by the team, but the children are encouraged to bring their own lucky baseball mitt.
This team is new to the Cal Poly campus and was founded in 2010. It was built upon by students who had a true passion for baseball and wanted to continue playing, as well as engaging in other organizations and clubs at Cal Poly. The team is composed of about 20 to 30 players each season. They compete regionally and nationally against other well-known University club teams.
Cal Poly Club Baseball is a newly formed team in the Sport Club Program. The inaugural season began in January 2010. CPCB competes regionally and nationally, as members of the National Club Baseball Association. The season takes place from February to May with non-league games occurring in the Fall and early Winter. The competition consists of teams throughout California, as a member of the Southern Pacific – West conference, including UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis, and Long Beach State. Membership consists of 20-30 players per season. Tryouts are held the first Saturday and Sunday of the Fall Quarter. The Club Baseball team is looking for players that have played at a high level throughout high school or in junior college. Check the website or send an email for more information.
