Finger Printing of Bacterial Communities

We are developing a novel technique for fingerprinting an entire microbial community using a combination of PCR and HPLC or PAGE. This process will allow for the monitoring of microbial communities and their dynamics with a rapidity and reproducibility never approached before. We are testing the technique on both artificial (constructed) and natural communities of bacteria.
