April 23, 2009	Building a Course that will Enable Students to Become More Socially Responsible Community Engagement through research and teaching are proven ways that meet significant community needs. Rich Berrett of CSU Fresno discussed the "nuts and bolts" of creating a course and corresponding syllabus that has the potential to build civic awareness in students while addressing community issues related to the course curriculum.
February 6, 2009	Global Service Learning Faculty Workshop During this workshop faculty members discussed models of Study Abroad Programs offered through Continuing Education of Cal Poly. This workshop also gave the participants an opportunity to meet other faculty members interested in global service. They discussed the "Mechanics" of global collaboration involving students. October 28, 2008	Global Service Learning Faculty Workshop This workshop will examine models of Study Abroad Programs at Cal Poly and discuss integrating global community service with Cal Poly curriculum. Cal Poly faculty, staff and students will share their successes and challenges in global Service Learning. Several global Service Learning models and resources will be discussed. This workshop will also provide faculty members an avenue to network with other faculty members who are interested in global service learning. March 7-8, 2008	3rd Annual Conference on Community Based Teaching and Research - "From Local To Global Perspectives" Save the date! May 30 , 2007	The Community CENTER at Cal Poly presents the 2007 President's Community Service Awards This awards ceremony is held annually and is sponsored by President Warren Baker and the Community CENTER, a part of the Student Life and Leadership department. The ceremony recognizes students, faculty, and staff for their contributions to the San Luis Obispo community. February 23 , 2007	Provost's Civic Engagement Seminar Series Cal Poly will host a lecture by Dr. Bernard Amadei, Co-Founder of Engineers without Borders and Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder as part of the Provost’s Seminar Series on Civic Engagement.
