Position Description
The department invites applications for full-time, academic year,
lecturer positions beginning September 2008. Teaching assignments
will be in general chemistry (majors and nonmajors including integrated
lecture/laboratory format), lower division organic chemistry, and/or
biochemistry. Appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications
and experience.
Required Qualifications /Specialized
Skills
A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry, or related discipline, or a
Ph.D. in chemical education (with an M.S. in chemistry) is required
at the time of hiring. Successful candidates must be committed to quality
undergraduate education with demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate
laboratory or lecture courses.
Department Information
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers B.S. degrees in
both chemistry and biochemistry. The department also serves core courses
for many of the technical programs in the University. Students may choose
concentrations in Polymers and Coatings, Molecular Biology, or a focused
Master’s program in Polymers and Coatings Science. The department
is committed to providing each student with a capstone experience through
a faculty-facilitated senior project. More information may be viewed
