Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering

The Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering is concerned with the interrelation of people, materials, and processes in a complex and changing environment. The broad field of environmental engineering includes the control of air and water pollution, industrial hygiene, noise and vibration control, and solid waste and hazardous waste management. Cal Poly has one of the few undergraduate programs in this field.

The program offers a sound background in the fundamentals of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, mass transfer , water resources and geotechnical engineering. The problem-oriented approach to instruction, in modern well-equiped laboratories, provides an excellent opportunity to gain understanding and experience. The program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

The curriculum maintains a close relationship with practicing professionals while providing students with a strong background in mathematics, the physical sciences, and basic engineering sciences.
